History of ASG
The history of ASG begins way back in 1992 when two lifelong friends with a mutual passion for both engineering and outdoor pursuits decided to go into business together.
The airsoft company we know today as ASG, however, was born in 1998 when the partnership of Johnny Pedersen and Henrik Grobelnik began to distribute airsoft equipment in Europe and soon began to acquire many of the licences that make ASG the household name it is today. In the early 2000s Johnny and Henrik worked closely with many great names in ‘real steel’ shooting to acquire early licences with notable firms such as Armalite and Cobray. As well as exclusive licence deals, ASG have fostered strong links with major brands such as Mechanix, ICS, Classic Army and Mad Bull by acting as distributors for these premium products in many areas.
Over the years over thirty exclusive licencing deals were struck with companies such as BSA, CZ, B&T and Accuracy International to name a few but ASG was still wholly based in the Scandinavian countries despite trading world-wide. All of this would change in 2012 when ActionSportGames became truly multinational, opening our USA and French offices (including US warehouse facilities). Shortly afterwards, massive demand for ASG products in the UK required Johnny and Henrik to further expand their team to include a dedicated ‘United Kingdom & Ireland’ sales office based in Nottingham, England.
Without a doubt, at ASG we are well known for our high quality range of Precision BBs . ActionSportGames currently have several ranges of BBs from our Q Blaster through to our Devil Blaster with everything in between including illuminated Tracer Blaster and our environmentally friendly Open Blaster -but it was not always so. In the early days of ASG the company launched the BLASTER BB, a product that would soon become a firm favourite with airsoft fans across the globe. Unhappy with the standards of BBs available on the airsoft market at the time, Johnny and Henrik used their engineering expertise to develop the perfect airsoft BB and created special selection processes to ensure only the finest BBs from each batch were used, This selection process continues to this day to ensure that ASG BBs are the best 6mm BBs available.
A major milestone for ActionSportGames was the production of the fully licenced CZ EVO SMG as an airsoft replica in 2014. For the first time a European company had designed, produced, marketed, and sold a highly successful mass produced Airsoft Electric Gun. Today this ‘Made in Denmark’ AEG is a modern-day classic, beloved of airsoft skirmishers and model gun collectors worldwide and is the recipient of multiple gold awards from the airsoft industry.
In 2016 the company relocated it Danish offices, design studio, production facilities and warehouse to our extensive new site in Espergaerde in Denmark. From this thriving hub ASG now conduct business in over 60 countries across the globe!
In 2021, at the time of writing, ActionSportGames continue to grow and acquire even more fantastic product ranges and licences as the ASG story continues.
